How to add a PayPal account to your Apple ID?
Though you can’t add a PayPal account to Apple Pay, which means you can’t use PayPal to make contactless Apple Pay purchases, but you can add it to your Apple ID. With Paypal on your Apple ID on your iPhone you can do the online transactions to buy apps, games apps and music available at app store or itunes.
Here’s how to connect your PayPal account to your Apple ID.
As a first step you need to unlock your iPhone and head to “Settings.”
Next Tap your name, which is located on top of the “Settings” page or Click your name on the top of the “Settings” page.
Then Click on “iTunes & App Store.”
On the next screen, tap “Apple ID” then select “View Apple ID” and login to your Apple ID account.
Once you are logged into your Apple ID, click on “Manage Payments.” Or Tap “Manage Payments” once you log into your Apple ID.
Now click on “Add Payment Method,” then tap on “PayPal” on the next screen which means Add PayPal by clicking to add a payment method.
Now Log into your PayPal account and confirm that you’re adding PayPal onto your Apple ID account.
Then when you purchase apps or music within Apple apps, your iPhone should default to using your PayPal account.
Once your PayPal account is linked to your Apple ID, you will be able to use PayPal’s One Touch feature to make purchases quickly and securely on all your Apple devices, including Apple Watch and Apple TV.
Previously, the only way to pay for Apple digital purchases was to use a debit or credit card, or use an iTunes gift card. Now you don’t have to share your banking or credit card info with Apple if you don’t want to. In addition, you can use PayPal to download apps that are not available in your country or region, as PayPal does not share your bank and credit card information with Apple.
Other payment methods you can use are:
- Apple Pay1
- Most credit and debit cards
- Apple ID balance (from gift cards or adding funds)
Also remember if you can’t connect to a payment service like PayPal sign in to that service’s website first and make sure that your billing details are correct. With PayPal, you’ll be asked to verify your account through a text message or code generator. Contact PayPal if you need more help.
